We got carrots, beets, bunching onions, broccoli and cabbage direct-seeded in the greenhouse; this is way cool!

This is a quick issue to let you know about events coming up in the Village of Merrickville. Be there or be square!

PRODUCTS AND PROMOTIONS
This section presents stuff you should see (and maybe buy) because, well, I said so! Just kidding, as you know we only promote products and services we have personal knowledge of and really believe deliver value, and that are worth your time to check out. So, uh, do it!

I've mentioned before the structured process known as C-T-P-M: Content, Traffic, PRESell, then Monetize. This is the exact process I follow to build and improve my site.

If you would like to learn the steps to build a working website for yourself, you can download a free 10-day Action Guide from my site at this link: Get Free Action Guide

You can also read my Review of Site Build It! here

AND, until March 28 SBI! is having a $100 Spring Special, details at the link above.

We got Events!

If you have been reading along, you know that I am involved in organizing two special events happening in Merrickville: first, you can join us for a candlelight walk in the village of Merrickville on Saturday March 27 in celebration of Earth Hour. We will meet up at the Blockhouse park at 8:15pm and take a leisurely stroll around the village. Bring a candle, join in the fun!

And, mark your calendar for April 17 for the 1st Annual Eco-Fair to be held at the Merrickville Community Centre from 10am to 4pm. We've put together a great selection of local vendors, presenters and exhibitors, all in the theme of 'green'.

Here's the line-up confirmed as of this printing:

Presentations

  • Ms. Mary Slade, federal Green Party candidate Leeds-Grenville
  • Eric Haar, Eric Haar Architect Inc.
  • Janice Ife, Ife Landscape Design
  • Scott Kelland, New Terra Farm

Exhibitors and Vendors

  • Danielle Grenon of Royal Lepage Realty
  • Eco-Gen Energy
  • Eric Haar Architect
  • Funny Duck Farm
  • Grenville Herb Farm
  • Haedae Farm
  • adopt-a-Tree
  • Ife Landscape Design
  • JDA Contracting
  • Kricklewood Farm
  • Merrickville Chamber of Commerce
  • New Terra Farm
  • Peggy Harrison
  • Pink Ginger
  • Solsmart
  • Switch – the Sustainable Energy People
  • Upper Canada Heritage Meat
  • Upper Canada Solar
  • Windsor's Courtyard

In addition, Bullfrog Power is powering the event, and will have literature available. We will also have books available by local authors, including Life, Money, and Illusion by Mike Nickerson (recently reviewed) and the Eastern Ontario Gardeners Tour Guide by Jim Cooper.

The Lions Club of Merrickville will be collecting food for a food drive. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the drive. And, enjoy a great cup of organic, free-trade coffee provided by Brewed Awakenings.

Admission to the Fair is free to the general public, so come out for the education and the entertainment. Learn what we all can do to create a more sustainable future, for ourselves and for our community, in a positive and upbeat way.

The Fair will also present the results of the Design Competition for local artists to design a 'green' logo, to be printed on reusable shopping bags for use in village shops. This is going to be a great show, come out and vote for your favorite design, support your favorite local artist.
