I've been researching the best online business ideas since 2005. That's the year I first created my website about my 'offline' business
New Terra Farm
My primary goal for my website was to help promote my farm business. And this has been successful; about half my farm sales (equals 5 figures annually) are as a result of customers finding me on the web.
Which brings me to the first of my best ideas for online businesses; use your online business to increase sales for your existing local (offline) business. The increased exposure can lead to more customers and more sales, with less work.
More and more local businesses are doing the same analysis I did, and deciding that online is where they need to be.
Will your local business survive without a Web presence? Probably. But many small businesses are using the global medium of the Internet to grow their local businesses, to 'steal' customers from competitors, and even to to add brand new revenue streams.
Here's the new reality that is driving the rush to the Web; more and more people are using Google and the other search engines to find businesses and suppliers; the days of the Yellow Pages may be numbered.
But, here's a caution: before you rush out and start building a website, understand that most small business websites NEVER attract a lot of customers.
Fortunately, there is a solution (or you wouldn't have found me and be reading this!) I created some pages to explain How to Start an Online Businesses the Right Way
